DTC Volunteer Recognition Initiative
DTC's Volunteer Recognition Program is designed to foster a culture of volunteering among its members by providing opportunities for service and acknowledging their contributions. This initiative includes issuing certificates to all volunteers in recognition of their efforts.Additionally, DTC has been honored as a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). This prestigious award, which includes a personalized certificate and a letter signed by the President of the United States, is granted to volunteers who meet the eligibility criteria set by the PVSA organization.
Volunteer Recognition Process
Volunteers must complete eligible service within a calendar year (January to December). DTC will recognize volunteers in the following ways:
- 
DTC Certificate of Appreciation: All volunteers will receive a certificate from DTC acknowledging their service. 
- 
President's Volunteer Service Award: Volunteers who meet the PVSA eligibility requirements will be eligible for this award 
Eligible Volunteer Service
- 
The following activities are NOT eligible for volunteer service: 
- 
Donating funds 
- 
Political lobbying (except non-partisan voter registration) 
- 
Religious instruction 
- 
Conducting worship services 
- 
Proselytizing 
- 
Court-ordered community service 
- 
Volunteering solely for family members 
DTC Volunteer Requirements
- 
To become a DTC volunteer, you must meet the following criteria: 
- 
Be a DTC Life Member 
- 
Be at least 5 years old 
- 
Commit to volunteering for at least one year 
- 
Agree to be added to the volunteer database and WhatsApp group(s) 
- 
Agree to share your contact information with DTC for correspondence and notification purposes 
PVSA Eligibility Requirements
- 
To be eligible for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), volunteers must meet the following criteria: 
- 
Be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder at the time of volunteering. 
- 
Be at least 5 years old. 
Complete eligible service within a calendar year (January to December) for annual awards (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) or over a lifetime for the Lifetime Achievement Award as mentioned in table below.
DTC recognizes that many families engage in volunteer activities outside of our organization too. To support DTC, as well as our member families circumstances, we will count hours earned outside of DTC as outlined below. 
For volunteer, age 26 years and below, at least 30% of hours need to be earned from DTC activities.
Non-DTC hours will require documentation from beneficiary organization outlining the name, dates, hours earned along with supervisor signature & phone number. As an alternate such evidence can also be sent from the supervisor email id having the domain of the beneficiary organization.
